TWELVE + HIGHLAND, Manhattan Beach’s newest exceptional dining establishment, has stirred up the South Bay with an innovative New American menu created by Chef Armando Martinez. The venue, positioned discreetly out of the fray of the main boulevard, is appealing to the eye as well as the palate.

The menu offers updated classics infused with local and global flavors. Each dining experience boasts signature dishes that embody the highest quality seafood, freshest meats & seasonal greens. Modern sauces, created with old world techniques, will keep you coming back for more.

The clean modern lines of the structure mix with traditional décor elements to provide the patron with the feeling of comfortable elegance. Soothing gray and lavender tones provide a cool ambiance amidst the fresh design components.

Love this place. Frank the "s l u t" Klutka and his bro Nick run a fine establishmint. His Cougars are hot, hot, hot!!! Bump and grind with 40 year old desperate housewives thatt are not shy. 12 and Highland is also a restaurant by day. At night, its where Hermosa Beach's 24 Hour fitness club goes to party. Cheers!

DON"T GO!!!!!

All I have to say is don?t waste your hard earned money on this place. The only thing good about this place is its decor. The service was so slow, the food did not match its price in taste, and the people who worked there do not know anything about good service. Once the place turns into a bar/club it?s even worse, so packed that you can?t even dance, drinks didn?t taste good and each one ordered tasted different. Overall two big thumbs down, don?t go.

The South Bay with style...

Agreed, it may be a challenge to get in, but what good place isn?t. Still none have the allure of Twelve and Highland in the South Bay, and there's a reason for that.
My advice, be patient or become a regular ? it is worth it. You can tell the owners took the time to create a place that is unlike any other restaurant/bar/club in the South Bay. The place has the class that the beach towns have been missing.
It has definitely brought the social scene back to the South Bay and I am sure reduced the number of drunk drivers schlepping to and from Hollywood. As for the crowd ? one word GORGOUS. It?s definitely a place to see and be scene. The place may be smaller than your Hollywood club, but I think this size keeps it quaint. For a bigger group, I recommend bottle service if it?s available - definitely worth it and allows you to control how fast a drink is in your hand. The DJ really knows how to get the crowd going and the staff is extremely nice. It?s definitely a place to frequent if you?re a social butterfly. I?m a repeat offender. They seem to take care of those loyal patrons. If you are searching for a good scene with less of a crowd, I recommend going on a Thursday night. Same great vibe and beautiful people, just a little less crowded. The one thing some may not know about 12 is how amazing the food is. I have been lucky enough to indulge a couple times and dined with friends who allowed me to sample their food. I have not been disappointed with anything ? I strongly recommend the manchego salad and rib eye ? you will not be disappointed. It?s a great place for dinner with a big group of friends. In saying that, it also has a very intimate setting for a romantic dinner ? request a window seat. I strongly recommend eating there!

DONT GO TO TWELVE AND HIGHLAND

Three weeks ago I spoke with Frank and made reservations. After being seated it took 40 minutes for us to get our food, it was raw and tastelessWhile waiting for our food the chef was nice enough to send over an order of Crabcakes because he couldn?t honor the request of a friend who wanted the Kobe burger, but they did not have a problem making it for the table next to us because they were the friends of the owner.I was told I could keep the table without bottle service because we were having dinner there but right after we paid our $400.00 + tip tab (for 7) we were told we have to pay $200.00 more if we want to keep the table. At this time my friends had started to arrive and looking to celebrate, but we were in the commotion of trying to find a manager, I went to him, INSTEAD of him coming to his customer, to figure out a solution. They basically told me I was lying. The place was so crowded, I?m sure breaking every capacity city code, we couldn?t even dance, OH WAIT, there was not a dance floor and the cocktail waitresses were too busy giving lab dances to the male patrons to bother to take our drink orders, which meant us pushing our way to the bar to get a drink.By this time it was 11:30pm and all of my friends were leaving because there was no where to dance, no one to get a drink from and no where to sit down.We ended up going to another club after spending over $1200 in drinks, food and club entrance. When I called on Monday to speak to Frank and discuss the night with him he accused me and my party of stealing 2 bottles of wine from out of all places, the DJ booth instead of apologizing. What a pathetic place and how sad that the investors have left their $$$ in the hands of bunch of idiots who don?t know how to run a business. Like the other 3 restaurant/clubs that occupied this location they soon will be going out of business.DON?T GIVE YOUR $$$$ TO THIS PLACE.
